Personality based marketing

Video 1

Negotiate the deal

Negotiating deals is extremely simple with the mindset I'm trying to cultivate within you guys.

It is simply a case of asking how much they want to spend and where to send the invoice, try to keep these conversations down to a minimum and be very stoic in your responses.

If they are asking a lot of questions then you simply need to go back into your core content piece and answer the questions you have been asked.

The aim here is to never answer the same question twice, once they have seen the content piece then they should know if they want your service or not.

Here are some examples of my "negotiating":

These are not special cases, this is how all of my communication with clients goes, these are just the two most recent (within the last 2 weeks).

Sometimes they will want to call you and talk to check that you're a real person and that you are legit. If they do just ask them 2 questions and answer anything they ask you that isn't in your content piece, if they ask you something that is in it, then just send them back to it.

Questions:

Why are you currently looking for a link builder right now (or whatever your service is)?

Why have you specifically chosen me to do this for you?

Set them up in Freshbooks

If you aren't using freshbooks, sign up immediately at www.freshbooks.com, this is literally the easiest invoicing software in the world, I invoice using my phone most of the time but it is extremely easy.

Follow these steps:

1) Add a new client - You need a first name, last name, company name, email address at the minimum.

2) Create an invoice - Once you have a client set up, you need to set up an invoice.

To send your invoice you simply select the client you'd like to send it to, the service description (mine just say link building and then the number of prospects). This adds the price automatically for you.

I also like to add my direct payment details below in the "Terms" section. You can do this in the web app, you can also do loads of other cool shit like, add standard terms, reminders on time etc

3) Set up your service - Each time you send an invoice your account will remember what you sent send the price etc, this makes it super easy to send them the invoice each month.

4) Hit send

They have extensive advice on how to do all of this, I just like that I can press like 5 buttons and have a new client invoiced, it also notifies me when they view the invoice etc.

Set up a call

Once you have negotiated the price and got the email to send the invoice to, you then need to set up a call to talk about content ideas. I use www.calendly.com for this and generally set it for 3-5 days after the invoice is paid.

That gives us time to come up with content ideas, perform an audit on their existing site, and see what they have to work with. Just go through the content training above as soon as they have paid you.

The idea is for you both to come up with some ideas and then talk about them to determine the best one to move forward with.

General tips

When communicating with the potential clients you want to have an air of authority about you, talk to them as equals and even talk down to them a little.

Remember that you are the prize, you are coming from a place of abundance and you don't need them.

If they don't sign up then you will simply get another enquiry soon and sign them up instead.

So if you want them as a client and they have the money to pay you:

  1. You get replies all the time, they are no big deal
  2. You are the expert here, they need you, not the other way around

Actually onboarding

So by now you have an invoice that has been paid, you have had a conversation with the client about the content and hopefully had the content created and ready for use.

If you haven't done this yet, now is the time to go through the content training above, do this step by step for each client.

Now it's time to get the actual project set up, this is pretty straight forward but I've made a quick video guide anyway:
